Default Cleo, the missing 4-year-old Australian girl, found/rescued

I had been hearing about this story off and on. Abducted from her mother's side - in a tent at a campsite. Missing for 18 days. And then in the news today, I heard she was found. On HLN, but the big WTF they didn't address at all was why she was found 30 miles from the campsite (but 7 minutes from her family home).

THE man suspected of kidnapping Cleo Smith has been pictured for the first time - in the back of an ambulance with apparent head injuries.
The 36-year-old man was pictured lying down in the ambulance with his bandaged head covered in a blanket.
It has emerged the suspect was seen uncharacteristically buying nappies in the last few days.
Police say no charges have yet been brought against the man, and no further details on the suspect are being released.

It comes as little Cleo, 4, was found ALIVE and well in a locked house after weeks of frantic searching for the tot, after she vanished from the Blowholes campground site in Western Australia, in October.
After 18 days of desperate search, the little girl was last night found, with West Australia Police confirming cops broke their way into a locked house in Carnarvon, Western Australia around 1am where she was found.

Wow, well it's great she was found safe and alive, but yeah lots of missing pieces to this story. Like who is this guy and what is his connection to the family (if any) how did they figure out he had her and how was he injured?

Apparently there's no connection to the family. They're not letting out many details but they keep stressing that the little girl was unharmed and had been taken care of. And that it was a crime of opportunity, he hadn't planned it in advance.

We were speculating whether he might have an intellectual disability and wanted a pretty little girl to look after and be his friend.
    Be excellent to each other.

He had to have been stalking the family around the campsite. Most people will zip their tent shut at night to prevent insects and other things from getting inside. And then the guy would have to reach in and some how extract this kid without waking the mom or causing the kid to cry out. At boy scout camp sites, after getting up to relieve myself in the middle of the night, it's difficult to recognize my own tent in the dark. Just so many questions....

^ Yes, can't you hear the background music as the camera scans the room?

Reminds me of that guy from Mad Max, Fury Road, Rictus Erectus (I had to google) wearing weird doll heads on his body
