[COLOR=rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.95)]He also pleaded guilty to unsworn falsification to authorities, for which he received a six-month sentence. Local reports indicate, though, that Miller received credit for 384 days of time already served.

He's suffered and had bad luck?! When are we going to start taking sex crimes against children seriously and actually protect our kids?? This is pathetic!

Sorry, it won't let me edit or delete the post!

This guy was charged with 64 sex crimes against children, including rape of a 14 year old girl. 63 of the charges were dismissed and he gets a suspended sentence on the other one. He can be removed from Meghan's list in a year. He said that it's been really hard on him, he's suffered and just has bad luck!
It's so outrageous that we don't take these crimes seriously on behalf of our kids!

This is complete bullshit!! I am so enraged right now. Ya'll can say what you want about Florida, but in my county, our judges and prosecutors take child crimes very seriously. Each trial that we've had when the defendant was found guilty was given a hefty prison sentence and if it wasn't life they were on SUPERVISED probation afterwards.

This shit pisses me off. How are these judges still on the bench??

We have a case out here where a guy brutally attacked and beat a 7 year old boy into a coma. It happened this past weekend. It was a random attack on the little boy by some nutty shitbag that lives in his neighborhood. This guy beat him and left him in the middle of the street. Thankfully a neighbor found him and there was video of the attack. The guy that did it has been arrested and charged 15 times for various crimes over the years (he's 32), including indecent exposure, committing lewd acts in public, and molestation of a child. All the cases were reduced to misdemeanors and 11 times he was found mentally incompetent to stand trial. Apparently, his parents just keep him there in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, this poor little boy is facing a lifetime of challenges. Not to mention, he lost his father to cancer in March.

William Edward Miller Jr. pleaded guilty to felony sexual abuse of children and misdemeanor unsworn falsification to authorities before Cascade County District Judge Elizabeth Best.

Best sentenced Miller, 51, to six months in the Cascade County Detention Center for the misdemeanor with credit for 384 days of time served.

On the felony, Miller received a one-year deferred sentence and was ordered to complete sex offender treatment in the community. The two sentences are to run concurrently.

Best emphasized that as a judge, she could only sentence Miller on the charges before her and the offenses that could be proven, not for all the initial accusations.

“I think it’s really easy and it's easy for courts, from the bench, to use these offenses as an opportunity to grandstand and to make statements for the newspaper and TV,” she said. "They’re very, very loaded charges. They’re very difficult charges to defend against.”

Miller, 51, was accused in February 2019 of raping a 14-year-old girl and allowing an 11-year-old boy to rape her, as well.

The following August, the state filed 64 counts of sexual abuse of children, alleging that Miller had images of child pornography and bestiality on his phone and laptop.

Just in case anyone wants to read the article.

He's actually married to the one of the girls in the child pornography photos. She was 17 at the time of the photo and they're married! He's 51 years old! I can't believe there are people in jail for years because they sold pot but this guy gets a suspended sentence and a year served. Then he can petition to get himself removed from the sex offenders registry!

What part of the world are you in? I hope it's better than the US!
In the US our biggest mental health provider is the prison system, it's so disturbing. It's almost impossible to get help for your adult family member unless they're a danger to themselves and others and that's so hard to prove. Guys like this tread water in and out of the system until they eventually sink taking people down with them, then they're put in jail. There's nothing done to prevent these car crashes even though everyone sees it happening! I hate that nothing's ever done about this here.

I can't even. Crimes against children are vile. How they can allow the perpetrators back on the streets so quickly. I don't understand it.
