Pamela Hutchinson came to Fort Myers Beach to help a friend mourn the passing of her husband. The two were supposed to spread his ashes in the ocean, said Marjorie Sellers,

    Hutchinson’s aunt.
It’s now Sellers, 80, who will mourn the death of Hutchinson, who was killed during her stay at a Fort Myers Beach timeshare condo. She was found Monday night,

but it’s likely she was dead for longer as family members began questioning her whereabouts on her Facebook page.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said 59-year-old Hutchinson was killed by a woman who was on the run after killing her husband in Minnesota. Hutchinson was one of five homicide

victims the sheriff's office investigated this week.
Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno said Lois Ann Riess, 56, targeted Hutchinson because she looked like her. Police allege

Riess shot Hutchison and stole her identity. Hutchinson’s purse was found in disarray and her keys were missing.
Riess remains on the run and is armed and dangerous, Marceno said.

She was spotted traveling through the Gulf states and was last seen in Corpus Christi, Texas.
It’s unclear how many sunrises and sunsets she witnessed before meeting Riess.

She last responded to her Facebook comments on April 5. Just before 5 p.m., she said she decided to stay one more day. Six days ago, a cousin-in-law reached out to the woman

who rented the room to Hutchinson to see if she had any news of her. She didn’t.
“She told her friend she was going to the ATM to get some money to reimburse her (landlord),”

Sellers said. “That’s the last they heard of her.”
It’s unclear when Hutchinson was killed, but 20-year-old Troy Strohm, a Fort Myers Beach vacationer, said he was one of the people

who found her. He checked into the
same hotel a week ago on April 6 and was unaware there was a resident in the room below his until he came face to face with her

    corpse.
Hutchinson was found bleeding from her ear with a bunch of towels draped over her, Strohm said.

"As soon as you opened the door it just smelled like a dead animal," he said. It was clear to Strohm she had been dead for a while.

Authorities in Minnesota began looking for Riess after March 23 when they found her husband, David Riess, dead inside their home with multiple gunshot wounds. A business partner

of David Riess asked for a welfare check after he was missing from work for more than two weeks. He was deceased for an undetermined amount of time.

Investigators believe Riess shot Hutchinson with the same gun she used on her husband, according to a news release from the Dodge County, Minnesota, sheriff.

On March 24, Riess was spotted at a casino in Iowa after her husband’s death but left before law enforcement’s arrival.

After that, the Dodge County sheriff requested the help of U.S. Marshals to track down Riess. They joined the investigation on March 30. And on April 2, investigators received

information that Riess was in southern Florida.
“Florida law enforcement joined in the search,” according to the news release. Riess fled Fort Myers Beach in Hutchinson’s white 2005

Acura TL, bearing license tag #Y37TAA. She traveled through the Gulf states and into Corpus Christi.
Corpus Christi is under a three-hour drive from the border with Mexico.

Marceno declined to answer questions, including whether Riess could be trying to flee the country. "Her current whereabouts are unknown," Marceno said, reading from a

    teleprompter.
The U.S. Marshals are searching for Riess, Marceno said in his prepared statement. If captured, in Florida, she faces accusations of murder, grand theft of a motor

vehicle and identity fraud. There is also a warrant for her arrest in Minnesota for the death of her husband. Authorities there say she transferred nearly $10,000 from her husband’s

business account into his personal account and then forged his signature on three checks to herself totaling $11,000.
Riess is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs 164 pounds with brown

eyes and was last seen with light blonde hair.
"Riess' mode of operation is to befriend women who look like her and steal their identity," Marceno said. As of Friday evening, Riess’

    whereabouts were unknown.
If anyone sees Riess, they are asked to call Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477. Do not approach her because she is armed and

    dangerous, Marceno said.
“Pam was so kind, just so kind to everybody,” Sellers said. “No telling what the lady (Riess) said to her.” Sellers, of North Carolina, said she believed

Hutchinson arrived in Fort Myers Beach on Tuesday, April 3, and was supposed to stay until Wednesday, April 4.
Hutchinson, of Bradenton, posted on Facebook about visiting The

Cottage Bar and wrote about being able to hear the music from Nervous Nellies from her room, No. 404, at the Marina Village at Snug Harbor. The hotel overlooks Matanzas Pass.

“Also got to see the sun rise and set,” Hutchinson wrote.

^ Yes, in all fairness, she's from Minnesota. At least that's where she killed her husband.

She's still on the run. Probably sitting in some casino somewhere chatting up her next victim.
