Paris shootings and explosions near Stade de France kill 18

Image captionMultiple gunshots were heard around the Petit Cambodge restaurant

At least 18 people have been killed in several shootings in the French capital, Paris, as well as explosions at the Stade de France.
At least one man opened fire with an automatic gun at the Petit Cambodge restaurant in the 11th district.
Liberation newspaper reports four deaths. It also reports shootings near the Bataclan arts centre.
Three explosions are also reported outside a bar near the Stade de France, where France were hosting Germany.
Reports say French President Francois Hollande was watching the match and has been moved to safety.
A BBC journalist at the Petit Cambodge restaurant says he can see 10 people on the road either dead or seriously injured.
He says police have now arrived and sealed off the area.
An eyewitness told Liberation he had heard more than 100 rounds being fired.
It says the gunman has fled the scene.

An update says hostages are held. Which makes sense given that it looks like there were attacks in three different locations.

So definitely a terrorist attack then. Do they know who is responsible yet?

My local NBC station is reporting that there could be as many as 100 hostages right now.

36 are dead - shootings, explosions, not sure if they're related (duh, of course they are, in my opinion) - some killed in a restaurant, some in a theater. Who knows how much of this will turn out to be factual, but this is bad.

My heart is breaking. I was having the time of my life there just a few weeks ago. Beautiful city, and wonderful people.

People held hostage are using social media to beg the police to raid the building as the terrorists are slaughtering people one by one..... This is it. If ISIS' beheadings didn't prove it than this certainly does: hell has arrived on earth.

This is so fucked up. I don't see the death toll staying lower than hundreds.
