Police: Liposuction Done On Teen In Condo Bedroom
2 Women, 1 Man Charged
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Police in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., arrested three people they say performed liposuction on a teenager in a condominium bedroom.
Investigators said that they found out about the home surgery after the 19-year-old woman went to Grand Strand Regional Hospital last week with dizziness, vomiting and bleeding.
The woman told police that on Thursday, June 16, she was picked up from the Myrtle Beach Mall by two people driving an older Ford Explorer. She said they drove her to the Ashley Park Apartments, where she paid one of the women $1,500. She said she was to pay another $1,500 the next day following the surgery.
Investigators said the teen was given several pills that left her unconscious while the procedure was performed in a back bedroom in the condo. The teen told police she woke up as two people drove her home.
The teen had at least 10 cuts on her arms, stomach and legs, according to the police report.
The teen told investigators that there was another woman waiting to have the procedure done and she heard the three people talking about doing more procedures before they were to leave the country on Monday, June 20.
The teen told investigators that she had found information online about getting the procedure, and police found the address of the suspects on the website. A search warrant was issued for an apartment on David Street, and the three suspects were arrested during the search.
Police say Miguel Orozco, 31, Nubia Trujillo, 53, and Adriana Neibles, 41, are charged with practicing medicine without a license, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and accessory before the fact of a felony.
