Three South Bay men were arrested in Miami after a female student on spring break accused them of rape, police said Thursday.
According to a police affidavit, the female college student claims the three men held her down and took turns raping her in their hotel room at the Fontainebleu in South Beach.
"They seemed nice enough," the 21-year-old told Miami news station WSVN last week.
She allegedly met them while on spring break at a pool party at the Shelborne Hotel. After complaining they needed a place to keep their purses, she and her friends went with the men to their hotel room, where the alleged gang rape took place.
"They were kind of taking turns on me," the woman said. "Somebody let my leg go, and I kicked him in the chest, and he backed up, and the other guy let go of my arm and they all started laughing at me."
The men have been identified as Paul Thorington, 22, of Lomita, Anthony Albano, 23, of Rancho Palos Verdes and Ray Joseph Laranjo, 23, of Torrance.
They were arrested in Miami Dade County on suspicion of sexual battery involving multiple offenders. They have been released on $50,000 bail each.
Arraignment is scheduled for April 14.
Under Florida law, the men could face 30 years in prison.
