MEADOWS PLACE, Texas – Police were on the lookout Friday for a man who knocked down and dragged a pregnant woman in a purse-snatching at a Houston-area CVS Pharmacy, investigators said.
According to HPD, the suspect was loitering in front of a CVS in the 12300 block of West Bellfort around 6:45 p.m. Thursday when a 21-year-old pregnant woman and her 14-year-old sister exited the store.
Police said the suspect grabbed the strap of the pregnant woman’s purse, but the woman didn’t immediately let go.
In a bid to get her to release the bag, police said the suspect pulled her to the ground and dragged her about 6 to 8 feet along the sidewalk.
Investigators said the suspect got away with the purse and jumped into a waiting SUV and fled the scene.
The SUV – possibly a late-model Chevy Trailblazer or GMC Envoy – was driven by a second suspect.
The pregnant woman and her sister were not seriously injured.
Images of the first suspect were captured by pharmacy surveillance cameras.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Meadows Place Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 281-983-2900.
