This is news? This shit happens every day. I've seen teachers hit lots of times. And here goes my list again but when I worked in an alternative school for 9 years, I was hit, spit on, kicked, put in a choke hold, pushed, cursed out, threatened, peed on and had objects thrown in my face.

Many of these "animals" have mental illnesses and/or have had life experiences that pretty much justify them not giving a damn about anything. Yes, they need to have better behavior but the vast majority are not like kids everyone sees on a daily basis who have had similar upbringings & opportunities. In other words, most are not snotty little ingrates.

Must've been a slow news day.

Exactly and it's not something "new" either, there have and always will be nasty little asshat children(who grow up to be nasty little asshat adults, they don't just wake up and decide one day to fuckwads)

I work at a high school and am amazed and appalled at the total lack of respect some students have for teachers/administrators.

Can't she sue for physical and emotional injuries? I remember a case where something similar happened in the past. If i remember correctly, the kid's family had to pay the teacher's salary for the rest of her would be career because she was too traumatized to go back to work...

I put my hat off to all educators. You couldn't pay me enough to deal with other people's kids.

Stories like this make me long for the days back when my grandfather was a teacher and he threw a kid out of a 2nd-story window for mixing chemicals and catching a part of the class on fire. No, I am not making that shit up.

^ my dad went to catholic school all his life and yes the nuns hit, but so did a certain priest who would just go up and down the halls between classes swatting kids left and right just to keep them in line I guess.

When I was 12, there was some crazy students in my class that gave my English teacher a nervous breakdown, and she left the school. That's how bad my school was.
