I read somewhere that The Sims 3 has been delayed, again, but just an extra three days, to June 5th. I can't remember where, but it might have just been a modding site for TS2, so it's probably not true.
But damn, those Sims 3 characters are UGLY. They look like Play-Doh figures. Sad how much better the Sims 2 figures look.

I think the 5th is for outside the US, a few different countries have different shipping dates.

The Sims 3 characters in that video look like those cartoonish "Wii" characters.

read a couple of days ago that securom now won't be used for sims 3. so much for delaying the release because of marketing.

Y'know what sucks? Right before the original release date I said "what the fuck" went ahead and shit-canned the whole lot of my Sims 2 games and add-ons in the midst of a regular "housecleaning" session on my computer hard drive. And sure enough the release date get pushed up.

I don't get the attraction of this game. I played it for like, an hour, and got bored.
I put my astronaut/leather gimp in the pool, took away the ladder to get out, and left it on fast forward. It was mildly amusing to watch him paddle around, pee himself, cry, and finally drown.

For anyone interested, it has leaked. I'm sure you can find it on any major torrent site at this point. I tried to do it and gave up, I'll just wait the 2 weeks and not risk screwing up my computer...

In perhaps a case of life imitating art, a pirated copy of "The Sims 3" has already been leaked on several file-sharing Web sites two weeks before the game's launch.
EA said the pirated version "is a buggy, pre-final" version of the game.
"It's not the full game. Half of the world — an entire second city — is missing," said spokeswoman Holly Rockwood in a statement.
Electronic Arts has announced it is publishing "The Sims 3" without restrictive anti-piracy software known as DRM, a form of copy protection that requires online authentication.
The Associated Press: 'The Sims' return with more personality quirks
Neither leak is worth playing. Supposedly, one of the leaks will give your computer a severe virus, aswell. It's probably more worth it to wait for when it actually comes out than you think.
According to Wikipedia, here's some of the things that were in previous Sims games that didn't make the cut for this one, highlighted in white text if you don't want to be spoiled:
Lost features
Almost everything from the original The Sims 2 can also be found in the original The Sims 3, but among the "lost" features are separate underwear styles (though Sims can wear underwear as their pajamas style), hot tubs, pianos (replaced by the guitar), physical aspiration rewards (replaced by lifetime happiness bonuses), diving boards, private school, visible retail stores (they are now hidden from the player), the cleaning skill and the slacker career.
The Sims 3 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm probably glad about only one of the changes, but the rest of them are pretty stupid. :/
