A Redditor: "Hey there, I'm part of the initiative to make the new ED. Lurkmoarpedia was started before the new ED by people who were inspired by lurkmoar wiki, like me.
It was the first site to try and backup ED. But it was grueling work, because we needed to convert Google Cache/Web Archive from HTML to Markdown (the code used in Wikis).
Also, it looked terrible as the admins weren't that adept at making wikis and websites.
The new ED, made by Anonymous, got the upper hand when they discovered that somebody had already archived 90% of ED. Even better, they put the source in Markdown. This meant that we could just dump em in our wiki with a script, cutting restoration from a few years to a few hours.
Unfortunately, that dump had no pictures. But with Anonymous hand-retrieving pictures from OhInternet, the Internet Archive, and other parts of the Internet, we plan to have 98% of text and 40% of the pictures from the original by the end of this month.
But the majority of the pictures have to be grabbed from OhInternet, and we don't know how long that will last with all the attacks. Most of the NSFW pictures will not be seen again, unless it is found again in somebody's hard drive.
We were going to put the dump in Lurkmoarwiki, but it involved scripting, which would require total control of the wiki, so we built our own.
Lurkmoarwiki now hates us. When we asked them to merge projects and help us, they refused. Some people attacked and spammed articles. A weak DDoS attack was detected. Now they're just stealing our articles.
But when they are reduced to stealing articles (not even using the gold mine from above!) that just makes me feel good inside."

JaylaMaria123: A recent troll that also talked about the weirdest shit, like smelling balls and being a semi-decent looking person.
