The most overhyped gadgets ever

Non-issue. I've never used any online store to download music. I rip CDs that I've bought or borrowed from friends right onto my computer. I've never had an issue with music not working after a few plays.

The Zune rocks for me. It's so versatile and easy to use. My last two players were Ipods and there is absolutely nothing wrong with them, I just happen to like the Zune better.

itunes has DRM as well...it may be even worse than microsoft's version: FairPlay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and if you have a CD with DRM on it it'll affect ipods and zunes the same way...or you just won't be able to rip it at all.

Last I heard, Apple did away with DRM entirely.. this was a few months ago

If I ever get a CD that I can't rip onto my Zune, it won't get played, simple as that. It goes onto the "sell/trade" pile and life goes on. It's not like I haven't bought a few albums that turned out to be absolute duds. I just use them to get something that I want.

Not entirely..only with the record labels they reached an agreement with..and they're still are watermarked.

Zune marketplace has DRM free tracks too that aren't watermarked...and I think that sharing files thing limit has been removed.

I'm not sure that we ever purchased any music from MSN Music. Most of our MP3's are ripped from CD's we own or used to own, or purchased from Itunes or Zune.

We sometimes have to convert a file here and there (I think from the Itunes songs), but it's not a big deal.

Isn't it true that Ipod's will only play songs purchased from Itunes?

Absolutely not. I have all sorts of CD's downloaded into my iPod and iPhone that I originally bought.

I like my iPhone too. It has its quirks and headaches, but for the most part it's cool
