It's me again, the computer dummy ...

So here is my newest question. Why the hell do all my bookmarks keep disappearing? This happens time and again and it is annoying the crap out of me. What is the point of the bookmarks tab, if it doesn't save anything? Is there a better way to save links to sites that isn't too complicated?

Mine just has a star on the upper left hand side on the tool bar & you just click on that. To add something,you click on star+. Do you have that?

You should download Delicious... It's is the best of best of computer bookmarks.

Wish I could help you but I'm on Explorer so I don't know on Firefox where to find them. On explorer I have a little star on my toolbar on the left. That's where I add my favorites.

Yes! Download it read about it and mess around with it. You can do so much with it.

in the menu bar (the bit that tells you you're in firefox), it goes
Firefox-File-Edit-View-History-Bookmarks-tools-window-help

If when you're in a page you want to save you click on "bookmarks" then click on "bookmark this page"

I'm sure you've already done that?

If you can't find them I suggest you go into "bookmarks" - "Organise bookmarks" then put them somewhere logical....

Firefox doesn't always put them where you want them to go.....

Yes, that's what I do. And then every so often, I will turn my computer on in the morning and the entire list is gone. It just vanishes and I have no idea why that happens.

It is really annoying because I bookmark a lot of Gaelic pages that I use for work and then I have to remember where they all are and go to every page and save them again.

Under the "Bookmarks" tab, go to "Organize Bookmarks", and from there to "Import and Backup". Backup your bookmarks every so often, so if they disappear you can use the "Restore" function.

Are you loosing other stuff too?
My mom's old computer used to do this & basically it has blocks on the memory so when you save something, if it writes it on the blocked bit it doesn't actually write.
My mom described it as if her computer had alzeimers....
