Default How often do you run a virus scan?

I'm just a bit paranoid and obssessed about it. I ran a scan last night, there was one trojan and a bunch of cookies. Deleted and cleared them. I'm running it again right now and there's a trojan again!! Where the hell do these things come from? Maybe they are not as harmful as I fear (I guess depending on the type of trojan) but I hate it on my comp!!!

(p.s. is this the right forum to post stuff like this? I figured it's for technical help etc but Mods, plz feel free to move it to the appropriate forum)

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

My anti-virus program is pre-set to do a complete scan once a week. I also do a spyware scan with two spyware programs once a week. I seldom ever get a virus, but the spyware is a bitch!

I run a virus scan at least once a week, using Mcafee virusscan.
I also have a firewall that stops most internet beasties before they
can do too much damage. If I'm in doubt about something, I don't
give it access to the internet or download it.

I just ran one last night, and there were 3 viruses and 21 ad/spyware things on it. lol. I don't scan very often because my computer is messed up and it's a long story. But the last time was only a couple months ago, I think, so I was surprised to see so much of it. But thankfully I was able to get all the garbage off of it this time.
