No idea what happened, but try hooking it up to your computer and then click "return to factory settings" and see if that helps.
Also, if its 1 year old or less you can take it to the Apple store for a free diagnosis.
I have an iPod Nano. I turned it off one day, and now it won't go back on. Won't charge or nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on what the hell I did and what I should do now?

Don't know if it's the same problem, but my boyfriend's ipod freezes sometimes and the only way to get it to work is to press the menu and centre buttons together.
Worth a try if Greysfang's suggestion doesn't work.

Plug it into the computer or send it back.
Sorry I'm a couple days late. Try doing a hard reset. Turn the hold switch on and off. Then hit and hold the select (center) button and menu button at the same time. Hold that for about 6 or 7 seconds until the apple icon appears on screen.
It may take a couple of times before it comes on. If that doesn't work. Connect it to the PC and repeat the steps above.
Let me know if that doesn't fix it
