    Default MAC laptop question

Can the memory be upgraded after the fact like a PC laptop?

I would like to buy the 2G but would like the option of the 4G but if I can't I'll just bite the bullet and buy the 4G from the factory so to speak.

Yes MAcbook, MacBook Pro and Imac can be upgraded to 4 gigs of ram.

DONT buy it at Apple its more expensive, and its the same modules.

the procedure is detailed on the users manual.

Local Mac stores, licensed to sell Apple products, are also a good place to buy ram. I got ram for my iMac there for much cheaper and they installed it for me too.

I have two more questions for you.

We have two PC's in the house one laptop and one desktop, both are hooked up wireless with a linksys router. Will the linksys work with the MAC or do I need to buy something from the APPLE WiFi selections?

And is it better to run them all together wireless or separate (if that's even possible)?

Your linksys will work perfectly with any mac.

There is no problem running all of them together the linksys router must transmit in B or G band and both of them are accesible (automatically) form the Mac.

Just go to your systems prefeences menu option on the Apple menu, select network, then choose airport and select the linksys wireless (if it has password typ eit in and put REMEMBER THIS NETWORK anv voila you are set...

any questions about it feel free to ask

    Cool beans.
I have a new MacBook Pro and the bottom (near the battery) keeps heating up to the point where I get scared & turn it off.
What can I do to keep it cool? I always keep the computer on wood or metal.
    Thank you!!

I'd make sure it was sitting on a surface that allows for "breathing". Like a desk or a table of some sort. Usually when I have my laptop on my actual lap it starts to heat up like that because there's no where for the fan to circulate the air.

I'm not sure, but I just got a MacBook Pro so I'll probably find out soon enough. I'll pass it on.
