Default I'm buying this universal remote control

    It's 10 dollars at Wallgreen's.

Brookstone sells it for 25 dollars, those rip off artists.

It'll make a louder clunk when it falls out my bed, but I need it.

I have one sort of like this:

Once you learn how to use it (which takes a while!!!), it's really convenient and a great thing to have. It controls everything- the tv, DVD player, amp, VCR, etc and the digital touch-screen allows for functions such as typing in the number of the DVD you want to watch (they are all preloaded). My friends all hate it because if I'm not in the room, they can't figure out how to do basic things like change the channel or adjust the volume. But sometimes that's kind of nice.

^ I have the same one! Model RM-AV3000. I bought it for my husband about 4 years ago and it still works great despite dropping it often. I think it was about $200 new. It's been good to us. Other universals don't work with a lot of equipment, this one even controls our recessed lighting.

Wow you fancy gals. That one is really nice. It's 60 dollars, used, on Amazon and 130 at an electronics store.

I don't need anything complicated. I just need BIG buttons for my aging eyes and I know I'd cry if it broke if it were to fall out of the bed. I only need for on and off and to switch from tv to dvd.
