Default How to copy individual scenes from DVD's?

    Hi,

I have a question for the technical wizzards here. Most of us have programs on our PC with which you can copy/write existing DVD's onto DVD-R or DVD-RW. What I want to know, however, is how to copy single scenes or small parts of DVD's to one's PC or a DVD-R or DVD-RW. Are there special programs for that or can you do it with the more common programs too? I have the NERO program which allows to copy even copy-protected DVD's onto one's harddrive before re-writing it on another disk, but I haven't discovered the single scene copy possibility yet - if it exists at all.
What got me wondering about this was all those brief scenes on YouTube....

Thanks in advance for your responses and (hopefully) solutions.

For the Mac users, there is a program called Hand Brake that will allow you to rip DVDs to your hard drive. I use it to rip my music DVDs, then I import them into iTunes and put them on my iPod.

HWBL, did it work for you? Have you tried it yet?

Hi, yes I've tried yours and several others, but somehow they only
work half in that something in my PC's system is preventing me from
condensing it to youtube format. Also, some of these free things
have their logo smack in the middle of the picture or only allow you
to do 2 or 3 minutes..... Then I discovered my Nero Smart program
should be able to do it, but I'm guessing it's missing some files,
because it keeps giving error codes halfway through. I've already
had contact with my computer store about it and they gave me a
list of things to check. If those don't solve the problem, I need to
take my PC in for a check-up.....
    Thanks for asking
