Digital Cameras
I want to buy a new camera - my last camera that I researched to death was a total dud and a complete waste of 800 clams. sigh.......
So I want to spend less then $350.
5 MP
4x zoom
and something that I could (even with a lens add on) be equal to a SLR 28mm lens.
Suggestions?
I'm thinking point and shoot nothing crazy.
Thanks in advance

Re: Digital Cameras
Well, I'm no expert, but I just bought a Fuji FinePix E550. I researched for about 3 months, and this one got really great reviews. Here's a review that I found helpful: http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/fu...x_e550-review/
The camera has:
6.3 MP
4 X Optical
Option to use additional lenses
The quality of prints I've got from this thing are AWESOME. The orig. price was 369, I got it for 200 on clearance....it was last year's model. Fuji has this year's model out that looks just as good, in the 350 range. ( the only thing that bothered me about the newer model--I can't remember the exact number of the model but it's in the E series-- was that it had no view finder. I didn't like the idea of not even having the option of using a veiw finder).
I was also looking at Sonys, maybe someone has something to say about them. Ultimately I got the Fuji for the large-for-this-price-range MP. I have been THRILLED with this camera!

Re: Digital Cameras
How depressing. My digital camera was stolen on Friday. Just before my birthday. It was a nice camera but it's the photos that mean the most. Some people are so rude!

Re: Digital Cameras
My digital sucks and I'm back on good old fashioned manual 35mm. Love it and don't know why I ever left it.

I'm so new at this digital thing, and I've been bucking about it ever since digicams became popular. I remember seeing the prints from my friends cameras and cringing. I am VERY PICKY about print quality. I said I'd NEVER have a digicam.
My beloved 35mm took a crap and boy, was I pissed. I shopped around for 35mm before I finally thought I'd give digital a try. Now that I found this little gem of a camera (mentioned above), I am really starting to experience all the benefits. For my purposes (mostly point and shoot, family and kid pics), I couldn't ask for more gorgeous pics. I take photos almost every day (I know, I'm a photo addict).
Anyway, just wanted to share that I'm a 35mm to digicam "convert".

Re: Digital Cameras
Mine is ancient - I've had it since 2002 and it's still great. Sony DSC something or other. I'm a product whore with a lot of things, but I only buy Sony for electronics. They never let me down.
