    Default Internet Security Question

I have Norton and it is about to expire. I am not crazy about it anyway. Does anyone know of any other besides Norton? Especially if it is cheaper(Norton is 50 bucks) and where I could do a check over the phone instead of using a credit card? Thanks!

You could download a free anti virus program like AVG... I use that.

    That's what I use, too.

could someone direct me with a link? other wise I guess I could look it up. It is just AVG? does it have any anti spyware or adware stuff? trojan horses and worms? FREE sounds a hell of alot better than $50.00 right now!

    thanks for the input twitchy/icepik/moomies.

*also sorry for posting this thread in the wrong forum*

Ok..so I downloaded the AVG..and this should be at least somewhat comparable to what I had in terms of protection..but none of the frills and xtras right? My norton expires in 5 days and saving 50 bucks would be really great! thanks guys!

AVG also has an anti-spyware program ewido. You should download that, too. It's free and for a limited time I think it has a spyware shield but I think it expires in like a month, mine did. But you can always just turn it on and do a scan instead of having an automatic shield protection anyway.

You can also download spybot for spyware. It works great, you can schedule scans and update for new spyware. You can get this at download.com.

I use Spybot - just as good as Norton as far as I am aware, and free.

I use McAfee for an annual fee, and although they had some bugs
last year (!) they've pretty much blocked everything since.

I have the virusscan and the firewall options. I forget how much
it costs, but there is an installation charge and an annual renewal
fee (the latter of which is small).
