Is it saying it can't be healed? Is it still finding it each time you scan?
I've been running the scans (I've done it like 3 times now) since last night but the viruses found don't automatically go to the virus vault like they used to. Is there a setting where I can do this or delete the mofos?
If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.
yea the viruses or whatever files infected can't be healed it says and it finds them each time I scan. So what I ended up doing is to move them manually into the virus vault. I thought infected files automatically went there so I'm wondering if there's a setting or option for this?

restart your machine in safe mode (hit F8 while it is starting up to get the menu). DON'T FREAK OUT when you see all the line by line text after you choose safe mode, it's ok!
Then run the scan. Also run a spyware scan (lavasoft ad-aware if you have it is a good one, make sure to update all definitions first) in safe mode. See if that helps. Sometimes the virus loads when you boot up and while the files are active anti-virus can't access/move them. Usually in safe mode they DON'T start up so anti-virus can do more to fix it.

I'm coming to this post a bit late but if AVG doesn't clean it by itself you should try Housecall. It's a free online scan. It catches a lot of things AVG Free seems to miss. Go to this site. Best to use IE but it works with Firefox as well.

If it's a trojan horse though that can be tough. A lot of times they simply reinstall after each boot.
ya some are nasty to fix. The online scan I use for backup is pandasoftware.comOriginally Posted by lavi
