Question about "unfriending" someone on facebook

So I unfriended a few people on facebook basically because we never really talk/post/ share anything of importance. However when I go to my list of friends, their names and profile pictures are still listed. When I click on the name it shows that we're not friends but why the heck are they still listed there?

Also there was a post by me on my niece's wall that was posted four hours ago, however I didn't even log onto facebook until about 30 minutes ago. WTF? It was in response to her son and it said " I love your boy."
I mean, I do love my great nephew but I didn't post that.

WTF is going on here?

whoaaaaa that's horrible! I don't know how ppl get hacked but that sure sounds like you have. Are your settings usually set to private? You should check to see if that's changed. That sucks! Wish I could help you but I'm not good at the whole hacking/tech stuff

sounds like you got hacked. did you log out, and back in. then change your password.

I logged out, changed my password and then when I checked, the people I unfriended were not on the list anymore.

As far as someone posting a message on my niece's wall I just deleted the post. At least the post wasn't something horrendous.

Sometimes I just think facebook is a waste of time and energy.
