PC to laptop transfer

Hello Techies,

I know about the software to transfer. What I'd like to know is....does everything transfer without a problem? Pictures, docs, etc?

I have my bookmarks backed up on Delicious.

I have a software program that let's me watch any Region DVD.

I use Picasa, Avast, and have yahoo messenger.

A few movies that I downloaded on my hard drive.

What about the music I keep on Windows Media Player?

Will these things transfer or will I have to redo them?

I don't have the laptop yet, I haven't even researched it yet, but I decided to switch and go wireless.

The days of wires are over for me.

I'm answering my own question around here!

I transferred everything successfully using Belkin Easy Transfer USB cable. I also backed everything up on CD's. I went from XP to Vista as that's what the Dell came with.

I got a Dell Inspiron. Unbelievably fast, lightweight, and pretty.

Then I returned the Belkin cable and got a refund. Hey, sometimes you gotta....

I could have paid to stay with XP but I didn't. Vista is fine so far. The look is different and much simpler. The desktop menu looks like Safari. I remember Windows 95 and how much more complex it was. This Vista is baby stuff compared to 95.
