I never heard of a mandatory replacement after 10 years. I've had mine for almost 10 and have had no problems.

If you feel hardening then get to the doctor as you might have capsular contracture.

Also, they are very hard to rupture. I've fallen down face flat while skiing and they didn't rupture. It takes a lot to break them. A friends mother had one rupture after she was in a bad car accident.

It is probably too late when one of the bursts or deflates, because there will probably already be checmical and toxic shit floating around in your body.
I've heard that rupturing causes incredible pain as well.

They say your body will just absorb the saline. IF it leaks. Most cases it is contained in the scar capsule and you don't even know you have a leak or rupture.

And if the saline has developed nasty bacteria and- or fungus, there's nothing you can do.

There are no guarantees with anything in life. Not too many months ago you could get sick from bacteria and e.coli from eating spinich.

Implants can have risks like any surgery. Don't do it if you're not prepared to deal with the potential consequences, no matter how slim.
