It's difficult for me because I do NOT have family...around me. Or much otherwise. And my husband and his family----very little. But the little family I do have, I want to keep. I have two brothers, both older. And they mean the world to me. All raised the same--very holistic. You JUST DONT DO THIS. But I am happy to tell you that now both brothers (since I just spoke to the Chiropractor brother) are very much behind this. In fact, my Chiro brother was talking about numerous patients that had had this done and were VERY happy with the results. In fact, he hadn't met one yet that was unhappy with it....

My Dad. Not telling him. For the reasons I have already discussed. Even the brother I JUST spoke too (who is a Chiropractor like my Dad) told me not to tell him. Just show up....make him figure out what is different.

I know, this sounds very silly to many people.... But its not silly in my family. We are 'off' and 'weird' because of the Holistic lengths they take. But its nice knowing that my 2 brothers are being very cool and are supporting me.

I know it doesn't matter at the end of the day---its MY body--but the knowledge and support from at least ONE person from my side would be nice. And I got two! Hooray!

    Thanks!

I'm glad you feel better having talked to your brother. And very glad he was supportive. Good luck!!!

Placed a call to my brother tonight. I would consider him to be my closest relative. We've been through a lot, and he's always looked out for me and taken care of me....but he's also very Holistic (like my Father--who I still haven't told either) and I don't want anyone to be disappointed in me, or worse, judge. They are MEN and don't GET IT. But anyway, I spoke to my brother briefly (he was in the middle of something) and he promised to call back because I told him I had a few things to discuss w/him (true).
So now I am sitting here...waiting for him to call. Feeling very dumb because I am going over and over in my head what I will say. I don't have anyone else in life...so it means a lot to me that this brother understands....my Dad, don't care.

Sorry to bring all the baggage into the thread...just need to vent and get my head clear.

I will laugh about this in a month I'm sure.
I'm going to be living vicariously through you on this, so you just do what you need to do! And report back to me immediately! Its important to have support, Lynnie - relax, it'll be ok.

I'm glad you're getting the support you need on this, Lynnie. It takes some of the worry/weight off your shoulders. I'm happy it worked out like that for you! Now, just worry about you and getting this done and getting on with a nice (perkier) life!

You didn't blather. Like I said, I am looking at having this done - come September, October, Novemberish... and I am interested in this for my own selfish reasons... but also for you! Keep us posted!

NO blood work. Nothing done--zero. Basically it was just an overview of the procedure and what to bring to the surgery. The doctor wrote me 2 RX's (pain & antibotic) for after the surgery and that was it. It may have taken all of 8 minutes. And I sat in the mother f-ing waiting room for over 45 minutes for it. So, on my way out, I see the nurse and ask her if the blood work shit would be done the morning of the surgery (that was the case for my c-section) and she said no....we only do that if you are over 50 yrs old.

THAT WAS IT. Didn't expect that....and not sure how I feel about that. Isn't it better to safe than sorry??? But then again, they're the experts right??
It's actually quite common. I work in a surgical field and we don't do blood work unless the person has significant medical comorbidities, is over 50 or has a history of anemia. Try not to worry too much about it! (Easier said than done, I know.)

Can't believe no one has asked.....are we going to see the before and afters? LOL!

Lynnie I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! I hope everything goes as well as it possibly can for you. I was starting to explore havng this done last year but then my mother died and I had too much going on to pursue this until lately. It's something I really want to do and I will be eager to hear all the details. I know you will be so happy once this is all over!
