Lynnie, don't tell your immediate family if they are going to react that way. You don't need to be explaining or defending yourself, and to be honest, men don't have a clue how it feels to have 2 monstrosities on their chest.

The thing w/my family.....they mean well. But just don't always 'get it'. In fact, none of them are FEMALE---so how could they possibly know what I am dealing with right? They cannot. So, its just not reasonable for them...and they could NEVER endorse surgery. So you see what I am dealing with.

STILL haven't heard from the surgeon. Ugh.

Hmm.. well, I have a very open relationship with most of my brothers so I'd definitely tell them - they'd be like your family with the "it's your body, do what you want/need to do".

Keep us updated and hopefully, you'll hear from your surgeon soon!

I actually did tell one of my brothers last night, called him because it was his birthday and just got to talking.....he was very supportive and wondered why I hadn't even thought of it long ago. So, that was positive. He said that my other brother and my father would probably react the same exact way....

And I did hear from the surgeon yesterday, but wasn't able to talk to him or the office because they called my cell (no one EVER calls my cell I swear) and I was in a meeting and didn't get out until the office was closed. So now waiting to hear back again today.

So its rolling....and I will probably call my Dad/brother this weekend. After a drink.

I was actually BRUTUALLY honest about my drinking---and then under 'occupation' I put 'Mom' and the doctor says 'OH, I get the booze thing now!' But I did tell him! I don't drink everyday (truly I don't)....but at least 3-4 times a week I do (usually).

I'm forging ahead w/it...the aftercare part will be discussed more when my In Laws are back in town and all that. Trying not to let that aspect bother me, but given how things have been in the past, its hard not to. But we'll see..

Great guy! That's funny! Good luck! I wish I had the money to have this done.. I would love to experience smaller bras! That's so awesome for you!

Ok, surgery is scheduled. Earliest they could get me in was mid March---and since we leave for Disney in mid April, decided to wait until after Disney. So, end of April it is.

omg im so anxious for you lynnie, you're very brave! its one thing to want a surgery/procedure and do the leg work for it but then when you're actually going through it, its a little jarring to say the least - but shit, we only live once! good for you!

Yay, Lynnie! I'm so excited for you!!!! Just imagine being able to buy a dress that isn't 6 sizes too big in the waist just so it'll fit in the tits! Awesome! Keep us "abreast" of the situation! Let me live vicariously through you until I do it myself!
