it's insane how much they do...
just by chance i was flipping through the mags and they had the same photo of denise richards on the cover, it was a screencap from an interview, on one version it was completely airbrushed and looked amazing, and the other wasn't...it was horrible, her eyes were looking different ways, lips mangled etc.

It's just not something I get. Is it because they have massive forehead wrinkles? Is it to freeze the skin so the forehead doesn't sink down and make their eyes look heavy?

It freezes the muscles so if they don't move the skin doesn't move either and stays smooth - If the creases are already there it takes a few month to iron them out - but it doesn't help the eyebrows ptosis, it takes an eyebrow lift to change that - the tail of the brow can be lifted with some injections but it doesn't change the whole eyebrow position

It seems strange to me that an actress would have her face frozen - surely she is going to need to make facial expressions in order to play a role convincingly?

Director Baz Luhrmann came out publicly and complained about actresses who can't make facial expressions any more. It was pretty obvious he was talking about his pal, Nicole.
