I read Kiss the Girls, too. Good book.

I've read: Along Came a Spider, The Midnight Club, Roses Are Red, Cat & Mouse, Violets Are Blue, The Big Bad Wolf, Three Blind Mice, See How They Run, Step on a Crack, Jack & Jill (my favorite), and a few others. His titles aren't the greatest, but the stories are.

I love his books because the writing is sharp and the chapters are short, so you can move through the book at an easy clip. Plus, his characters are well-drawn out, and there's always a twist.

^ Yeah he does have some lame titles but my favorite was The Quickie Haha.

I love his character Alex Cross. Very cool.

Reading his books in the large-print editions is hilarious. Because the chapters are only about 2.5 pages long. And you feel like your eyeballs are going to come out of your head because of it. Good times.

I've seen 'The Quickie' in the stores, but never picked it up. What's the plot?

Yeah, and I love the Alex Cross books, too. But he's come up with a new character 'Michael Bennett' that he introduced in 'Step on a Crack.' Good character, and the book had parts where I just laughed out loud because of certain things that happened to this character that was modeled off of Paris Hilton.

Blood and Rage: A Cultural History of Terrorism - Michael Burleigh

It's good, it's a overview of terrorism covering everything: Fenians, Anarchists, Red Brigade, Baader- Meinhof, Islamic terrorists, etc.

That sounds interesting. I may have to pick that up.

had a bookworm weekend - I read Cloudstreet by Tim Winton and Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris.

    Verdict:
Cloudstreet is an amazing book, brilliant stuff. Everyone should read.

DUD is great brain candy: sex, vampires, mystery... not rocket science but very enjoyable. About the same market audience as Twilight but written much, much better.

Charlaine Harris' books are marketed to a much more adult audience than Twilight was actually intended for

I'm currently reading a few things, can't decide what i'm in the mood for. I'm reading my truly battered copy of House of the Spirits by Isabel Allende, which is one of my absolute favourites, and one by...Jeaniene Frost, something about half-vampires or something that my friend suggested is a good piece of brain fluff.

I am about to re-read "The five people you meet in heaven". Really good book imo and now I have it on audiobook.

Goodreads is sending me an advance copy of Margaret Atwood's new novel, The Year of the Flood. It's another dystopian novel. I'm so excited! This is the third book I've won from them!

Right now I'm reading In the Time of Butterflies by Julia Alvarez and enjoying it very much. It's a fictionalized account of the Mirabal sisters who were assassinated for standing up to Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. They are such inspiring women.

Murder on Waverly Place by Victoria Thompson.

it is in the "rapid read" section of our library and a new author for me. she has not disappointed. excellent book. i noticed 10 or so other titles of hers in the front cover that i will look for at the library. i started it yesterday and am 1/2 way thru, very hard to put down, my kind of book.

highly recommend this author. this murder takes places in the time of Teddy Roosevelt (before he was president), in high society NYers.

I've just read The Help by Kathryn Stockett. It's set in 1962 in Mississippi and it's written in first person from three people's point of view; a 22 year old aspiring Caucasian writer and two African American workers (the help). The writer convinces two women primarily to help her write a book about their experiences and how they are treated and eventually ten others follow and tell their story and the book is published.

The Kennedy Curse.... my son is a big fan and I bought the book at his request and then I wound up taking it from him to read myself....
