it's not as bad as the series about the guy with the insanely powerful magic sword he can't use because it has too many rules

god i hated that book

by another well known author.. can't remember his name. It's the hero, his bitch with the flaming red hair (she's some kind of witch that can control men if they touch her or something, but keeps getting her ass handed to her)... he's got this awesome sword but he can't use it if he's angry, then he can't use it if he's got other issues, basically the thing is useless and every subsequent book makes up more fucking rules for it

Terry Goodkind and some Shanara or whatever it is nonsense? if that is him, stop reading now. All of his stories are the same, and you will want to put a fist through a wall after reading them, they are all the same, he just changes the character's names from book to book, and occasionally what it is they are using, swords, elf stones, ...

Just finished The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, its much better than the movie. Just started The Shadow Queen by Anne Bishop.

I've put LotR down for a while so I can read some books I've had for ages but never read. I finished The Great Gatsby on Saturday and have now re-started on Catch-22 (I started reading it years ago but got distracted).

I've started with 13 Bullets by David Wellington. It's very good so far. I like that his vampires are truly scary and not some romantized version that we see in most books/movies.

Well I have been trying so hard to read The Girl's Guide to Witchcraft by Mindy Klansky?
And fucking I can't get into it at all. She takes SO long to describe everything to the point I find myself rolling my eyes! I swore to myself this year I would finish every book I started reading, but dammit, I can't get past the half of this one..!
