Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I'm rereading "No Logo" by Naomi Klein. Not usually a big fan of non-fiction books, but this one is actually entertaining, and making me nostalgic for my student days.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
just finished 'the falls' (joyce carol oates) and 'the black veil' (rick moody).
the falls was great, addictive, the kind of book you can't put down, and the black veil, rick moody's memoir, is beautifully written and haunting. he's an amazing writer.
and i just started 'the darling' by russell banks and i'm rereading 'adieu gary cooper' (romain gary) but i went out and bought books yesterday and i really want to start kazuo ishiguro's 'never let me go' but i keep telling myself i should stop reading 2 or 3 books at the same time.....

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
Just finished All the Presidents Men and am in the midst of The Final Days. Two good books to revisit while suffering under the current administration. Teh parallels are hilarious if scary.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I just read the new Augusten Burroughs book "Possible Side Effects." It's not as good as Running with Scissors, but very funny nonetheless.
But avoid "Empire Falls" at all costs - another one I just read but was depressed by. The main character was gutless, and never changed, even after 500 pages.

"Good Omens" by Pratchett and Gaiman. I can't believe me it took me so long to read it, all my friends were raving about it, and now I can see why.

Yes, yes and YES! Have you read anything else by Neil Gaiman? I'm a huge fan. His isn't the *most* sophisticated work ever, but damn it's good - and still about a mile up from beach reads!

Reading "Why Waco" by James D. Tabor right now. It's about cults and religious freedom in the US.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I loved 100 years of solitude at the beginning but as I read on i got more and more bored. Also, all the characters with the same name got me confused.
I'm reading "The year of yes" by Maria Dahvana Headley, it's very funny

I haven't actually! I'm aware of his name as friends are always quoting from his essays and blog. And I'll definitely be checking him out more after this.
