Wait, what's funny about my post?
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.
Im going to get at Barnes & Noble cause Im pretty positive my local library doesnt have this book, "Candy Girl: A Year In The Life Of An Unlikely Stripper" by Diablo Cody. She was on Letterman last week and it sounds pretty interesting.
Honestly? I'm reading Dianetics...or attempting to anyway. I also have Dianetics 55! (I think 55 is the first version, maybe?) and I've got one more on life principles or something waiting for pick-up at the library.
I want to see what it is about Scientology that attracts/brainwashes people. I grew up in a cult and my BA is in psychology, so the psychological condition and manipulation of religious adherents/converts is really very interesting to me.
If I start talking about wanting children through Silent Births and how great Tom Cruise is, someone please contact the appropriate medical authorities. I live in Philadelphia, PA and my address is... There's a great psychiatric hospital in Belmont (had a stint there already), please send me there in a worst case scenario!
The Dianetics book, btw, is very stupid. I've only gotten to page two after about a week of staring at the cover.

Currently reading? Grimm's tripe haha no.
Seriously I am done reading atm because of all the Uni text books etc and am just reading a bit of light fluff *The Western Guide To Feng Shui*
Wait, why is my book tripe! lol

I don't really know how to translate the title, but as of now I'm reading a book called something like "House of the crazies" by a Norwegian writer. I like the book, it is written from inside the walls of a psychiatric institution. Fiction, but could might as well have been real.
Mmm... Am I wrong, or did it just get fatter in here?
dammit

Travels with Charlie by John Steinbeck, don't laugh...it isn't his usual stuff you "had" to read in school. This is a book where he writes about a trip he took in a pickup truck across America with his giant poodle dog, Charlie. It is very funny! Really..I swear...![]()
Never laugh at great books, andyfan. Steinbeck is a great writer and should be read more just for fun. Personally, I love Grapes of Wrath. Anyway, right now I'm reading 'Witnesses to the Russian Revolution' alongside 'Moab is My Washpot' by Stephen Fry. Recommend both, although the Revolution one is a bit dry at times. Fry, as always, is a hoot.

I'm sure the book is good, but the giant poodle dog part makes meOriginally Posted by andyfan

i think we have similar tastes in authors. i love bulgakov but i agree a little about the ending of this one, though i read it ages ago so it's not all that fresh in my mind. i really love his fake diary of a doctor in siberia, i forget what it's called.Originally Posted by Barbara
right now i'm reading 'ludmilla's broken english', by dbc pierre, the guy that wrote 'vernon god little' (brilliant btw!). i'm not even halfway through but so far it's pretty good. will post more when i'm done.
