God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens
I am an atheist already so it's not to convert me. It's a fun read so far. I'm just reading very slowly because I have time to read just before I got to bed.
Finally found a decent bio of Diana Mitford at the local library so have begun that. It was great to discover that this rather small library is pretty well-stocked.

Did you know that Hitler (or Heidler) was a product of incest?

^ I think his parents were uncle and niece, was it? Or cousins? I remember reading about it. And he too was in love with his niece, his half sister's daughter. The poor girl committed suicide to get away from him according to some sources. Or because he left her, according to other sources.
^ Well you know what the Hitler's say, if you can't keep it in your pants, keep it in the family. I'm surprised he wasn't outwardly retarded, seeing as his family tree was branchless.

I just finished The Human Stain by Philip Roth. It was hard going but I enjoyed it. Now on something much lighter - Pontoon by Garrison Keillor. LOVE this guy's writing and his humour.
Why do people say "Grow some balls"? Balls are weak and sensitive! If you really wanna get tough, grow a vagina! Those things take a pounding! -Betty White
I liked the Human Stain but I loved the other two in the trilogy much more. I Married a Communist is brilliant and American Pastoral is a great and unique take on the hullabaloo we call the '60's. Fantastic.

Celebutantes by Amanda Goldberg and Ruthanna Khalighi Hopper. So far, it's good for the name dropping insider bits. I don't think it's that well written though. The authors are daughters of famous people. Hopper as in Dennis Hopper and Goldberg some big producer Goldberg guy. I like the little tidbits which you wonder if it's true or not. For instance Russell Crowe's wife couldn't get into the Vanity Fair Oscar party because Russell wouldn't be coming with her. LOL that must suck. Bunches of other little things where sometimes they use a real name, other times you have to guess who it is. It's a fun read.
Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick. It's very interesting writing on a story that American's really should know.

Among Other Things, I've Taken Up Smoking by Aoibheann Sweeney
Am almost at the end and it's pretty good so far!

I don't know what to read. I have The Other Boleyn Girl here and a few Lynsay Sands. I don't know what to read first.
