Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I've been reading Sylvia Browne's books. I got interested in her when I glimpsed her on "Montel Williams" during breaktime at my job.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
i was on holiday for 2 weeks so i had more time to read than i've had in the past few months.
i devoured a wild sheep chase, by haruki murakami. funny, weird, smart... brilliant book, i really recommend it
the accidental by ali smith. really well written and funny and witty and a bit haunting too.
in the eye of the sun by ahdaf soueif. long but worthwhile. she's a great egyptian writer but educated in england, one of the smartest people i've read.
i re-read herman hesse's siddartha as well. i'd forgotten how incredible it is.

The Monty Python autobiography by The Pythons. Great book, especially if you're interested in writing. Never realized how, erm, conventional John Cleese is.

I'm not reading anything right now. It's SO DEPRESSING, but I'm bogged down by school.

Anyway, I just finished reading 'The Accidental Tourist'...it was fantastic. I've never seen the movie so am wondering if it was any good (bear in mind that I hate William Hurt, Heart, Hert, whatever his name is).

I loved the book but hated the movie. The movie just plodded on and on--it didn't do the book justice.
I'm finishing up "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion. It's heartbreaking.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I've just finished The Master and Marguerite by Bulgakov, at the beginning I loved it but I found the end was a bit long and boring.
Yesterday I've begun In Cold Blood by Capote and so far I really like it.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
Right now I'm rereading Diamond Grill by Fred Wah for my Intro to Lit course in prep for our final one week from today! Ooohhhhh god, I hate this book. I want to throw it in a bonfire. I'm sure some people will appreciate its intense ambiguity, its refusal to clarify ANYTHING, or to give any context to its goings-on, but that person is definitely not me.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
I just finished House on Mango Street for class, next up is The Color Purple, and then The Handmaid's Tale, all for class. I won't be able to read for myself until summer, and it seems that most of the girls at work are pushing me towards Chuck Palahniuk b/c that's what they're all reading. I'm not sure I want to read him, I've read some of his stuff before and I wasn't that impressed, it seemed mostly anything to shock the audience and not much beyond that.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading??
The Handmaid's Tale is one of my favourite books of all time! I really love it. I know it backwards and forwards. I did in in Grade 11 and 12 and got 98% and 100% on my projects respectively. And I also did it this year in my Lit course and I find out what I got on my essay today, so hopefully I did well! If you need any help at all, don't hesitate to ask me!
