The Case of the Deadly Butter Chicken- Tarquin Hall. A Vish Puri- India's Most Private Investigator, mystery.

It was good. And it steered me to a non fiction book: Borders and Boundaries, Women In India's Partition which I'll start soon. It's about the rapes and kidnappings that happened to Hindu and Muslim women during partition.

In the middle of Girl With a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier. It's a fictional story about the muse behind Vermeer's painting of the same name. I'm about halfway through it and enjoying it thus far.

I finally read Gone Girl. I thought it was pretty good but the ending was a bit disappointing. I was hoping one of them would be dead. Is that wrong?

I thought the movie adaptation was really good, the alchemy between Colin Firth and Scarlet Johansson really created the kind of intense yet contained relation I had imagined between the two characters. The light and the music of this film are also really great at recreating the atmosphere of the book.

Currently reading Wharton's books - preparing for a competitive exam - very enjoyable though !
Loved Ethan Frome and Age of Innocence
(we have to study House of Mirth - among other books - and I particularly like it)

Rejoice! I have finally finished the Wheel of Time! What a shitty ending. I was truly hoping for major carnage and death and the book underdelivered.

Just about to start the Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling with my newly formed book club.

Just finished The Pursuit of Happiness by Douglas Kennedy. (NOT the book the Will Smith movie is based on..)

I thought it was a great read. Interesting from start to finish.

I really liked it. It's a sort of conceptual novel, about reincarnation into the same life and the alternate courses a life can take.

Am reading it but I haven't made my mind up yet.

Slowly making my way through War and Peace. I'm having a hard time keeping track of the characters.
