People need to stop lumping Harry Potter and Twilight in together! Harry Potter is brilliant and moving and lovely. Twilight is... not.

Just realised it's World Book Day this Thursday. I can't send ALL the boys in as Harry Potter and none of them want me to put a giant nappy on them and paint them green with a swimming hat to be Gollum so I'm completely stuck. I'm stuck....

Meanwhile back on the ranch the tumbleweeds keep blowing by.......

I dragged out the Halloween costume box, but none of the boys seemed keen on the idea of telling their teacher that they were dressed as a 'Tim Burton' take on a particular character...thought I had managed to persuade one of them to do Frankenstein, Mary Shelley, but no. In the end we got desperate, so William had a hand made sign that said 'Just William', Alfie had a hand drawn cut out trophy that said 'Danny Champion of the World' (Roald Dahl) and J-J went in wearing a dress for David Walliams' book 'The Boy who wore a Dress.' My 15 yr old told me where to get off and my youngest (special needs school) just went in his uniform, which will be a nice shade of red paint by midday. Problem sorted. So glad I didn't get desperate and do Harry Potter all round, I saw 4 of them just dropping them off.

I'm going to have a quick read of 'The Butterfly Lion' before flying off for the day. How is 'The Eye Has to Travel' going MmeVertigina?

Default I'm Reading Airman - Eoin Colfer and Game Over: Jerry Sandusky and the Penn State...

Airman (Eoin Colfer) is really good. It's about a boy / man who is framed with murdering a King. Also reading Game Over: Jerry Sandusky and The Penn State Culture of Silence by Bill Moushey and Robert Dvorchak. Actually, I''m listening to audiobooks. The local library allows you to download up to 5 audiobooks per week using your regular library card. I listen to them while doing chores. It makes the work go much faster. Also, I listen to them at night if I can't get to sleep.

Oh that's got to be a thumbs up Glassberry, having your own adventure with the help of an audio book while washing up.

Why do I keep thinking 'sanitary towel' each time I read the title?

One of my Great Unread Classics - The Great Gatsby. It's all over the shops because of the new movie which I might see if the crits are good although the Robert Redford version is probably as good as it gets. So far Im really enjoying the book which cracks along in elegant style.

Trying to finish up the last Hunger Games book. It isn't as fast a read as the first two were for me.
