I Just finished 50 shades of grey and just ordered the second book in the trilogy, these aren't really my kinds of books but for some reason I couldn't stop reading it, the writing really isn't that good But the story line kept me going.
"The Mysterious Affair at Styles" by Agatha Christie. I love Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple stories so much and never get tired of them.

"The Circular Staircase" by Mary Roberts Rinehart. I'm on an old mystery stories kick, I guess.
About 3/4 through "we Need to talk about Kevin"
It's making me think, that's for sure.
Finished Cabin in the Woods. Turns out the book was actually an adaptation of the screenplay by Joss Wheldon (from the Avengers). It probably played out better on the screen but I'm not one who likes to read about gore. They story was weird and then they tried to explain the entire thing with two sentences and neither of those sentences made any sense.
Running the Rift-Naomi Benaron. A Tutsi olympic hopeful in Rwanda before and during the genocide. It's very good.
All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.
Re-reading Sookie/Southern Vampire series in order, currently on book 4 (the one where Eric has amnesia). I'm bored and procrastinating, so they are a fine time waster.
I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. It's hilarious.
Being a bit embarrassing and just started Insurgents (sequel to Divergents).
I finished reading the L.A. Candy series by Lauren Conrad. They were really fun summer to reads. I'm about to read Stephen King's the Shining.
finished 'the hunger games' trilogy. they're for teenagers but at the same time they don't sugarcoat anything and assume kids are idiots, in fact they're very violent. i couldn't put them down. the writing is pretty good and it's just a great story. makes me wish i could have read them when i was 12 or 13.
I'm open to everything. When you start to criticise the times you live in, your time is over. - Karl Lagerfeld
Just started While my pretty one Knits by Anne Canadeo
Lamb in His Bosom by Caroline Miller which follows a poor white settler family in early 19th century Georgia.
It's kind of interesting because there are bits and pieces of inadvertent attachment parenting going on in the book. One character even chews food for a child.

Life is a hell of a thing to happen to a person.
I agree - the wrtiting is not that great - and I am not into that genre in general...but I just ordered the last 2 books too.
It's been rather fascinating to see out how many are interested in this particular "flavor". I feel like I got sucked in and now dammit I need to see how this progresses.
