    The Submission- Amy Waldman

The design of the WTC memorial is an open competition, and the winner is an American Muslim. Great little novel.

Utopia - Thomas More. My son got it as an assignment. I can't believe I've never read it before. I remember it being a choice of reading assignments, but I chose something else and never got around to reading this one on my own. Shocking to me, as I've always had an interest in the Tudor period.

Faith: A Novel- Jennifer Haigh. A priest is accused of molestation, and it's impact on his family. A great story about brothers and sisters.

    I highly recommend it.

Exterminator! by William S Burroughs. One short story in and I'm trying to convince myself to carry on with it. Perhaps he's an aquired taste.

another Taylor Caldwell (found 3 of them in my mom's basement): Captains and Kings.

Has totally sucked me me in. Is about an Irish immigrant in the 1850s who plots to make his son President of the US, while at the same time works with a bunch of anonymous men to control the world. Is apparently based on the Kennedys.

Slash's autobiography from 2006. Crazy stuff, only about half way thru. Definitely a good read if you are any type of rock-n-roll fan.

Before We Were Free by Julia Alvarez. She wrote the more famous In the Time of the Butterflies. I like this author, but I really wish the publishing houses would use real live translators instead of running shit through Babelfish or something.

An Arsonist's Guide To Writers Homes In New England- Brock Clarke.

I've just started it, only about 3 chapters in. It seems like it may be pretty funny.

I finally read the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series, which I had been avoiding because I find that super hyped books frequently disappoint me.

They were meh. Just a average crime series. I can't believe that they've inspired films in two languages. By the third book my eyes were sort of glazing over.
