The Taking by Dean Koontz. I have a sneaking suspicion that I have already read it, although I'm still reading the first chapter.

Kindred by Octavia E. Butler... Very good book about a black woman in her twenties who is transported back to the antebellum south by the sun of a plantation owner and the father of her great-great grandmother.

I'm currently working my way through the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost and also reading Forty Years of Murder by Professor Keith Simpson who was a pathologist involved in some of the famous British murder cases from the 40's onwards.
