I think, strangely enough, Edward Cullen was one of the most normal (and least irritating) in the book. That Jacob storyline - all of it - was ridiculous and seemed to go on forever. He was stalker and extremely possessive and a lot unstable. Bella was extremely irritating too, with that self-hate and neediness. As a female, I was embarrassed and offended. The girl was written to have NO backbone whatsoever.

He took the engine out of her truck in order to stop her. He practically had her kidnapped so she wouldn't sneak out to see him.

Oh, and also about the 'rape' icon. Ehh I don't necessarily agree with it 100% (tho it does have some undertones), but I thought it was funny and I'm all about the lulz.

I didn't use the term "rape", someone else did. But it is a bit disturbing that this author thinks its romantic to write a love scene that alludes to intensely violent sex (with all those bruises) that the consenting partner doesnt' recall.

Disturbing... and hugely funny. The "sex" scene with it's fade to black as they begin to kiss.... Honestly, Meyer couldn't have made it more dirty if she tried.

Thanks - this is what I was ineloquently trying to get at

Although, I have to agree with you about the way the author described the sex. It was written horribly. Every time they had sex was written the same way - horrible.

I didn't like the story line with the baby and Jacob, either. That was more of a stretch than everything else the author was asking us to swallow.

I liked the first book, but by the third I was struggling to get through it. She could have omitted A LOT of what was written in the four books and made one interesting one... two, tops. Especially considering they were over 600 - 700 pages long.

I agree totally. Started BD back in November and still have not finished.

I guess i didn't think either Edward or Jacob were as possessive, warped, or stalker as Bella was. She was obsessive over Edward to the point of psychotic, and she seemed to use Jacob's attraction for her to get what she wanted. She was probably one of the least likeable characters i have ever seen/read.

Happy trails to you...until we meet again.
I love & miss you Dad.

    LOL!

I'd kindly ask him to recommend something else.

He's very intelligent, I'm sure he'd give me a good book to crack open!

Body Look. I think this site is great and all that. But as a Twilight fan myself, I don't like it either. I saw your headline and calling Stephenie a 13 year old girl? WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?! Yes. I saw your responses to other users who told you that. You answered you were just critiquing her. And based on that headline, you are NOT critiquing her. You're EMBARRASSING her,for Pete's sake!

You need to go and read the whole series,OK? You can't just go make a site and be all 'I hate Twilight' and stuff. I think you probably just looked at the cover, read some random pages and decided that the books suck.

I admit some pages may be cheesy;especially what Edward says. But, its supposed to be like that. Edward's old-fashioned. He was from the "old" times and grew there. And Bella is so not a Mary-Sue. Yes,she gets a little spoiled but she does it in a minimal amount.

So I suggest that you go get your ass to a bookstore, buy the series and READ THE BOOKS COMPLETELY!!!

You might be saying: 'Hmm. An 11 year old girl... with language. Who taught her?'
ANSWER: I go to school and I learn stuff. And not stuff the teacher says. Stuff the students say. I'm a student;so I need to learn them.

I'll be waiting for your response... patiently. I'll be checking in this site everyday and will be seeing if you reply with some smart ass answer,MARS!

Ooooh,PS: You probably came from Mars and your abnormal. That's why you hate Twilight, bitch!

What were they saying? I couldn't understand half the stuff they typed.

I'll admit, I bought all the books when a friend of mine told me they were good. They were a fun read, but nothing great. I wanted to smack Bella, and Edward pissed me off on the no sex thing. When I found out they wait til marriage I wanted to scream. I don't care what time that boy was from, he would jump at the first pussy to wag in his face just like any other straight teenage boy.

I finally read Twilight after seeing the movie on cable. I think the book was pretty accurate in depicting the self consciousness and awkwardness of teenagers and the dialog between the characters was authentic.

It was an okay story. I personally was more interested in the other vampires' stories and the Quileute legends than in Bella and Edward. I think that Carlisle is a fascinating character and would love to read a book that centered on him and his spiritual ideals and journey. For the movie, I was kind of surprised that Peter Facinelli was able to pass for Carlisle and be a convincing blond. He definitely conveyed the warmth and kindness that the character of Carlisle has.

I liked the character of Jake in the movie and in the book- especially New Moon which I am halfway through.

As for promoting abstinence.. I must be missing something because IMO these are very horny books. Just because the characters aren't having sex doesn't mean that they aren't fixated on the act. If she wanted to promote abstinence, she probably would have focused more on the characters' interaction than endless musings on physical characteristics.
