I'm surprised LOTR (Lord Of The Rings) wasn't on that list.

    Catch 22??

The Movie was terrible, widely criticised and got crap box office. The book is great.

I would put Lord of the Rings on there.

Sin City was a direct transfer of the comic source to film, it even used the original artwork as the story boards. So it is arguable that it may be the best ever transfer from book to film.

These aren't top 50 material but they're all I could think of off the top of my head without saying what someone else already did.

Curious George, Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, Thumbelina, Peter Pan, The sword in the stone, Robin Hood, etc.

After reading "Cuckoo's Nest", I was quite disappointed with the film. It's grown on me since my first viewing, but it's nothing compared to Kesey's novel.
I saw a film today, oh boy.

I remember watching To Kill A Mockingbird at the movies when I was little, and how I cried when Scout walked up innocently to the grown men in their white sheets, and called out howdies to them, she recognized everyone who was hiding inside their individual sheets. They were there to hurt her father, and her and her brother, and others, but she didn't know this at this time, she totally accidently shamed them. That was a great moment for me, later on I read the book and it still is one of the greatest stories that I have ever read or seen on the screen.
