Love this book as well. One of my all-time favorites.

I read it at highschool, probably around Grade 8 and loved it. The movie is on of the few that does the book justice and Gregory Peck IS Atticus Finch. Perfect casting. I hope they don't make another because you can improve it.

Slightly OT but I've watched Capote a couple of times recently (Philip Seymour Hoffman is awesome as Truman) and I didn't realise that Harper Lee accompanied him to Kansas to do the research for his book In Cold Blood (which I am also reading at the moment).

As you can tell, we all highly recommend it. You might enjoy the unabridged audio version more.

I totally agree. Do not mess with this movie -it does not need a do-over.

Isn't that just chilling? That poor little family.

Perfect casting indeed but I do think if they remade it, it could be done better with the assistance of good casting, directing, screenwriter, and most importantly, musical score! (Pick meeee!)
I just see something different when I read the book compared to the movie.

they wouldn't dare remake this... would they?
that would suck majorly. sorry, allie, i know you're a fan of remakes but i think with a handful of exceptions, they all suck. the new 'hairspray' made me want to go all guerrila 'cecil b. demented'-style and firebomb multiplexes.

They all suck because people make them who don't have the passion or the vision of what it should be. We need a version of this that isn't black & white. I'd do it myself iffin I could.

And I hate remakes! Where did you EVER get the opinion I liked them!?

P.S.: mcjag, stop hitting me!

Yes....

Anyway I don't really want somebody to rush out and make a new version just for the sake of it. I want somebody who's dedicated. Maybe even has Harper Lee co-write the screenplay. That'd be nice.
