Anybody else love Jackie Collins?

Her books are my favorite guilty pleasure, and probably are based on more real life stuff and people than we realize. I love her characters and the way her stories overlap. Lots of humor, drama, and sex!!!!!!!!!!

the summer I was 13 me and my best friend read all her old books..from Lucky on backwards....they were great trashy novels, perfect for us at the time....

and yes, she does roman a clef about people, the fun is the guessing

I adore Jackie Collins!

She said once in an interview that she never has to go looking for ideas because everyone comes to her with the gossip and the secrets. She said people will talk to her because they know she does a good cover up in her stories and keeps quiet in real life.

With one exception [Jack Nicholson], I have never been able to figure out who is supposed to be who in her books.

OMG I am so glad I am not the only one who loves Jackie!!! I too love her!!

Have all her books! Love most of em! I think 'Lucky' is my fav, but not sure. It's been awhile since I have read her stuff. Might have to go into the archives and dig em out and take a gander at em again!

I think she's fabulous and she is my absolute guilty pleasure in the literary world!

Funny this thread should be here because I just finished reading one of her crappy books. I always read them, feel dumber afterwards than when I started, usually irritated by the fact that I figured things out in the first five pages, hate all the bad types and bad copy editing and yet, yet....I can't stay away. She's like the crack of books.

Lucky Santangelo was my hero when I was 13. Reading Chances and Lucky also got me grounded.

Ah Lucky...I'll never truly hate Jackie Collins due to the creation of Lucky. I loved her when I was a young teen as well. It was so good to read about a ballsy chick who didn't take shit from anyone.
