JK Rowling drops hints of possible eighth Harry Potter book
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has strongly hinted for the first time that she could write an eighth book in the series.
Rowling, 42, admits she has 'weak moments' when she feels she will pen another novel about the boy wizard.
One of her biggest fans – her 14-year-old daughter Jessica – has already put pressure on her to revisit the character. Scroll down for more ...
Weak moments: JK Rowling may give in to temptation and write an eighth Harry Potter book
And her younger children – David, four, and Mackenzie, two – are likely to join the clamour for another novel as they discover the Potter books.
However, if an eighth novel were to be written, Rowling concedes it is unlikely that Harry would be the central character.
She finished the seventh book in the series – Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – last January.
At the time she thought she was ending a 17-year association with the boy wizard.
But in an interview with Time magazine, which put Rowling at No 3 in its Person Of The Year list, she said: "There have been times since finishing, weak moments, when I've said 'Yeah, all right' to the eighth novel. Scroll down for more ...
Pottering on: Is there more adventure in store for Harry, Ron and Hermione?
"If - and it's a big if - I ever write an eighth book, I doubt that Harry would be the central character. I feel I've already told his story.
"But these are big ifs. Let's give it ten years." In the meantime, Rowling is working on two writing projects – an adult novel and a "political fairy tale" – and is involved in charity work.

I'm with Aella on this. If there's no Snape, I'm not interested.

Yes a prequel is definitely the way to go, I would love to really hear the story about Voldemort's first war.

She could do one about what his kids are up to...the aftermath.

She left it as Harry being a soccer daddy in the last book.

Albus Potter and the Brillig Borogoves. What a neat title.
It wouldn't kill her, if she loves it so much, to start writing a new series near enough with the same characters, just plod along for her own gain and one day if she likes it, publish it.
I always liked the idea of an 'imposter Potter', like in Alex Mack where she was split in two.

Sorry for those who havn't read book seven....but when it ends Harry is an adult with kids of his own. If she does do another Potter book it'll probably be about Potter Jr. and his shinanigans at hogwarts. JK could re-do this entire series with Harry & Ginnys children and Hermoine & Rons children.

Or she could fill in the blanks leading up to Harry's adulthood. Or do a prequel about the first war. TBH I don't care, I loved the 7 and would read an 8th.

Another one who's uninterested if Snape's not in it here.
