Is the book better than the movie? I loved the first movie but hated the second.

The second film was a bit dull. I remember, having already read the book, wondering how they were going to get around the scenes were she gets to interview Colin Firth! I was not v impressed. Books is much better! Neither film did the book justice.

Plus Renee's accent really bugs me in the film! That is NOT what English people talk like!!!

The second movie is terrible and completely strays from the book. There are so many funny things in the book that I think I liked it even better than her first Bridget Jones book.

It's too bad they had to try to be so utterly ridiculous in the second move - it just ruined it. The second movie is terrible and completely strays from the book. It's too bad they had to try to be so utterly ridiculous in the second move - it just ruined it.

^^ditto, the second movie was a big dissapointment. i thought the second book was far better than the first, but loved that one too....i dont really care whether another movie is made, i just was HF to come out of what seems like retirment, and grace us with another book from our favorite heroine.

I think she's currently writing more Bridget columns for the Independent, so hopefully she'll turn it into another book.

I love Edge as a book and was initially disappointed with the film. It's okay over time though - still not as funny as the book, but anything with THAT fight scene in it isn't a bad view!

"What are you going to do, drown me in 6 inches of water?"
"Actually, good idea!"

I thought the second movie was cute. I would like to see how Bridget adjusted to married life and possibly kids.

^^ Apparently, in the new column Bridget gets pregnant and doesn't know if it's Mark's or Daniel's. That's the last I heard... any UK Independent readers know more?

I thought the books were a lot of fun. I enjoyed the first film, The second one was fairly crap though.

^^ It's a shit movie filled with funny bits - y'know? I like watching it for the funny bits, but as a whole it's a rubbish movie. They ditched the comedy for the romance, and it all fell in a hole.

I loved the fight scene in the sec movie far better than the one in the first...it's actually my fav part of the entire movie. which goes to show how bad it was.
