I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb
Has anyone read this? I am 50 or so pages in, been taking my time but it's not like those 50 pages haven't come with dozens of little stories within the major story.
I'm liking it. I'm liking it a lot.

From what I heard, it really sucks you in from the beginning and is better than his other novel She's Come Undone.

You're right.
Over the past two years I've been a really picky reader. Something has to grab me from the first line, or else I toss it and can't be stuffed.
But this pulled me in. I love the narration, it's so frank.

One of the best books i have EVER read in my entire life. It is VERY WELL worth reading. I read it back in 2001 or 2002, and i don't recall if it was slow at the beginning or not, but if it was it got really good really fast, cuz i am the world's slowest reader (i have ADD) and i read that book in just a week or two (and it's a pretty big book). I remember i loved it so much, i would actually come home on my lunchbreaks from work (i only worked 5 minutes away from my house) to read the book for 50 minutes. Lots of interesting plotlines, great character development, poignancy....and wait till the end!!--it is so AWESOME!!! (Now i want to read it all over again! ) I remember when i was finished reading it, i read on the Internet that there were plans to make the book into a movie. (Supposedly, Matt Damon was supposed to star in the lead role, much to my dismay since he doesn't seem suited for that character AT ALL.) But that was like 5 years ago and i have not heard anything since. Anyway sorry to babble, but i HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to anyone!

Speaking of people to play Dominick, I can't help but imagine that guy who was Remy in Monster in Law...
Adam something.

I absolutely loved this book. I was a bit hesitant to read it because I enjoyed She's Come Undone so much and was afraid of disappointment if this one wasn't good. Wally Lamb sure knows how to write though...I finished this book in a matter of days.

I read it a few years ago and it is very slow to start but it wonderful. It takes place where I live, the hospital is 15 mins down the road (actually being turned into a movie studio/amusement park, 1.5 bil project) Totally creepy to drive by it. Wally Lamb was an English teacher at a local high school but I'm not sure if they live in the area anymore.

Both of Wally Lamb's books are absolutely fantastic. I loved "I know..." because of its accurate portrayal of schizophrenia. It was riveting--I feel even now, maybe 5 years after I read the book, that I lived that man's life.
"She's come undone" is also very good, but with less of a lasting impression. There's also a book in the same vein of "I know..." that you might like, it's called something like "The curious incident of the dog in the night-time."

I loved She's Come Undone. It really made an impression on me. I guess Ill be reading this book. I think I have it actually. Does it have two babies on the front cover? I know I have two of Lamb's books. I bought Undone and then was given True as a present.
