Any Christian fiction readers aboard?
hi. i belong to my library's summer book club (adult) that is ending this thursday. i will have completed 22 or so books. we received small weekly prizes. i have to say they were better the first 4 weeks or so, high end pens, nice stationary pads, then it went to candy bars, coupons for their used book sales and cheaper pens, etc. the kids gift box looked alot more interesting, lol!
also i'm in another of their book clubs where you get a free t-shirt after reading 23 books (i'll get mine soon), then an option for a 2nd tshirt at 66 books and a 3rd tshirt at 99 books. they all have the library logo on them with the number of books read, etc.
some of my favorite authors are:
Karen Kingsbury
Lori Wick
Wanda Brunstetter
Debra W. Smith
Yvonne Lehman
Cindy Woodsmall
Kathleen Morgan
i particularly enjoy Amish fiction, though many of these aren't. the book club also gave special assignments for extra coupons for books outside your regular reading genre. i read a NF, a book by a local author, and read the last paragraph of a book first, so i met 3 out of 10 suggestions. if i had more time i would have done more.
some of the other options were read a cookbook and make a recipe. read a book and watch a video of the same, read a biography.
i'd love to share more if anyone is interested. please feel free to add your summer reading experience here even if it isn't pertaining to christian books.
thanks! i look forward to meeting some of you.

You need motivational prizes to read books? I do it for the pleasure but I have to say the only Christian book I (inadvertantly) read was some nonsense about the Rapture which I naively thought was a SciFi book. It was only when I got into it that I realised what the real agenda was.

so like.. what are the plots in christian books? Do they all end with people finding Jebus, or staying pure in the face of wanton harlots or something?
Does Kirk Cameron write books, or just star in bizarre rapture themed tv movies?

Would that be that stupid Left Behind series, because that's exactly how I was suckered into reading that nonsense. Boy was I pissed when I realized what it was. My time would have been better spent reading those choose your own adventure books, those were far more plausible.

which then proceeds to out-act him. the banana has more emotional range.

Hey, Grimm asked a genuine question. And I'm sort of curious myself as to what Amish fiction would be like.
