Seems like it! That's been rumoured before. Who is Ted C anyway? He sounds like he's on crack when he writes these blind items! The weird names he comes up with!

I'm for the William Petersen guess. Yes, he was in the Michael Mann directed version Manhunter, which is far superior in my opinion. That role put him on the Hollywood map. He got great reviews for it.

It’s that Chumpy, known for his lovable character work on the boob-tube.
Lovable character to me means a sweetheart of a guy.

"lovable character work" fits Matt Leblanc better. Maybe it isn't William Petersen. Aargh!

God I hate Ted's blinds and the resulting headache I always seem to get after reading them...
What about Andy Richter? Pudgy, red headed (kinda), and does lovable character work. But I think he's married as well, and I would think the blind would have said that.
Just a thought.

Wow, LOTS of possibilities! lovable characters... hmmm...
I thought of William Peterson from CSI first, too. But that CSI is too obvious for Ted, isn't it?

Also, I wouldn't call him a character actor since he is the STAR of CSI: Miami. And most importantly, no one could call him "terribly shy," nor is he lovable in any of the roles he's played. He's played dramatic asshole cops, and very badly too. Except for the asshole part, and there's no acting involved there.

But hasn't Matt LeBlanc pretty much been a given for gay? I will say this, he does have some moobs on him.

Is "Shemp" meant to be a clue? Could it be an actor who replaced another actor in a series, or was replaced? Shemp was originally one of the Stooges, but was replaced early on, then came back later in their career.
ETA: maybe I should have read the clue more carefully, it says Shepp not Shemp.

Clues: Red's
Pudgy
Lad (irish, scottish?)
Loveable
Dorky
Oh that's good. WP was my first thought for the blind but then couldn't figure out how the "Red" part fit.
Oh bite your tongue. No way my WP makes a Ted BI.
I think Ted was only saying that B. Pitt was curious.

Translation: CSI is a dorky, lovable TV star who is too embarrassed to come out of the closet. He met a journalist at a gym, they had sex, it was CSI's first time with a man, and now the journalist is telling everyone.
To further simplify it, it's a typical Ted blind item: B or C List star who might be gay. SHOCKER!
Clues: Red, CSI
For some reason I just don't think it's William Petersen. I think that would be TOO obvious and I don't think he fits the "dorky, shy, and lovable" description. I don't know this one, and it's not really interesting enough for me to put effort into figuring it out.

Who is the guy on CSI Vegas that was a lab tech but then got promoted to a cast regular. The young cute guy with the spiky hair?
He fits the young profile but not the chubby...
Darn this one really makes no sense....... ugh this is Ted at his worst.........
