Nicole had a miscarriage. IIRC, there were pics of her on a stretcher being put into an ambulance.

I am reading his unauthorized autobiography at the moment. I personally think Tom Cruise is insane.

I haven't finished it. So far, it hasn't told me anything that I haven't learned from this or other websites.

hey guys, check THIS out!! it came from DListed!!
Shawn Lonsdale was one of Scientology's harshest critics. He directed his own anti-Scientology documentary and also became a fixture in Clearwater for standing outside Scientology offices and filming workers coming and going. He was found dead of an apparent suicide in his home in Clearwater, FL this past weekend reports Tampa Bay Online. He was 39. Police spokesperson, Elizabeth Daly-Watts, said there was no evidence of foul play and a suicide note was found at the scene. Police found a garden hose running from his car to his home.
Shawn was never a Scientologist, but became intrigued by the church after reading about them. He then began to work on exposing the church and annoying its members. Scientologists fought back by hiring a private investigator to look into his past. They found several charges against him related to sex with men in public and posted fliers around town warning everyone about him. It's been reported that they included his social security number on the fliers.
Radar reports that several Internet message board posters aren't so sure about the foul play part. They said Scientology members constantly harassed him and may have driven him to suicide. One poster wrote, "An apparent suicide? Maybe it was staged to look like a suicide. Has anyone noticed how many Off-Duty Officers work for Scientology! These will be the same officers investigating this Suicide???? An investigation with Impartiality? Justice Denied?"
One poster on Tampa Bay's site claims the Police spokesperson might be a Scientologist. They wrote, " Interesting that the police spokeswoman would be Elizabeth Daly-Watts considering she's a scientologist herself. A quick search of Google will follow that up . Somethings fishy here"
In the past recent months Shawn had basically stopped all his anti-Scientology activity. He stopped posting on his website and on message board.
Gulp. I'm not saying SHIT! Hail Tommy! Hail Travolta! Hail Alley! Hail Bart Simpson! I don't want to take a trip to Space. I think I'll go lay under the covers now, holding my Xenu doll.
They better ask Kristie Alley what she was doing this weekend. She's already pissed after the Jenny Craig shit. Ask her!

That's it. There should be an FBI investigation. Someone independent of the freaks. Scientology critic dies right when mounting pressure is beginning on them? That's not a coincidence.

Mr. Moviemaker & Mr. Moviestar in Cruise's biography
I finally finished reading the Cruise bio last night. Came across this on page 274. Kind of corroborates the Mr. Moviestar/maker story:
Quote:
|
...When Tom did mention his faith, it was in the context of helping one of Spielberg's children who was having reading difficulties. The actor suggested that Spielberg take the youngster to a Scientology center in Hollywood. Spielberg did so, but when he was informed that his son would have to be taken off his medication in accordance with Scientology principles, he declined their offer of help. In the mythology surrounding Cruise and Scientology, this story was transposed into a yarn in which Spielberg mentioned the name of the psychiatrist treating one of his children, and within a matter of days the psychiatrist supposedly found himself being picketed by Scientologists.

Does Morton mean that he *knows* that the picketing the psychiatrist story isn't true?

Scientologists have been known to picket doctors before so it's not unlikely. They'll protest whatever their leaders tell them to.

Easy. It's all about the money -- if he stayed married to her for more than 10 years, she was going to get a whole bunch of money from him. By divorcing her before the 10 years was up, she got much less.
That said, Nicole married him for similar reasons -- he promised to give her a Hollywood career, and he delivered.

Actually, Morton directly debunks this theory in his book by referencing California marriage laws. Apparently, pre-nups excluded, all assets are part of the marriage regardless of how long you were married. The 10 year finish line no longer exists.

I know that, but she did have a pre-nup and it's my understanding that 10 years was the finish line for that particular pre-nup.

I think you mean Nicole had a 10 year contract with him! Or maybe it was 5 years with an option to renew. All his relationships are contracts. Remember this little tidbit of gossip from Gatecrasher back in the early days of TomKat?

Some engaging tidbits
So here's what I'm hearing about that relationship.
A source VERY close to the deal is saying there's a contract.
It's worth $5 million.
It's for five years.
There will be no sex.
The deal was sealed June 7.
That's what I'm hearing.

(I saved this back in the day, but the original page link doesn't work anymore. Here's an archive page link: GATECRASHER)
Don't weep for Nicole - she knew what was going on - an active player in the whole thing. Plus, she came out of it with a great career, tons of money, and plenty of media savvy. Nicole was lucky that Cruise wasn't quite as heavily into Scientology back in the day, though. Hopefully, Katie will be able to get out.
