I looked it up. Lopez's film, "Bordertown", was filmed in 2007. Her production company (Nuyorican) was involved, too. But it had a worldwide theatrical release almost immediately. It didn't sit on a shelf for several years and then become a straight-to-video, like "Tully".
Yup, I just looked it up. It was filmed in 2005, never released in the theaters in the US, and was released in theaters around the world in 2007. But:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bordertown_(2006_film)The picture was first presented at the Cannes Film Festival on May 18, 2006, and again at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 15, 2007, before being released to theatres.
It is not Tully. I saw that in a theater when it came out. I mean, Jason Reitman directed it, starring Charlize! It did well at film fests and had an international premiere... it wasn't some struggle movie. True it was only in theaters briefly before it was available digitally, but that's not that unusual these days for "small" movies that are about regular people without superhero powers etc. This has to be something else. (Also, I liked the movie!) (Also, I haven't been on here for awhile, it's so quiet!)
