I think I remember readind a long time ago that Tony Danza is allegedly racist. That's surprising, but maybe him?

Robin Williams was on Mork and Mindy from the late 70s and early 80s, was he in anything else in the 90s?
Tom Hanks was on Bosom Buddies in the late 70s or very early 80s.
I'm horrible at this stuff.

Nah Robin & Tom have head steady careers, can't see either of them in a slump that would lead to porn...
Scott Baio has been so up and down I do see him as possible...
still pondering this one...

^^Yeah, I keep going back to Scott Baio. Something about him seems to fit.

That's a good point - opens up other possibilities, like Kelsey Grammer. Not sure if the timeline fits the two shows though.
Scratch KG - doesn't he produce Girlfriends?

But Scott Baio was a regular in more than one series? There was Arrested Development, Diagnosis Murder, Charles in Charge, Happy Days, Joanie Loves Chachi...and numerous other shows that he only appeared once or twice. This is all from IMDB, by the way. Why would the blind say he was only in two TV shows?

OK, so here is a (comprehensive?) list of TV spin-offs. At least this will help maybe narrow things down a bit? If you go through and eliminate everything but situational comedies in the late 70s, it breaks down a lot.
TV Spin-Offs
Its funny - George Clooney was in The Facts of Life (a spinoff sitcom which started in 1979, ran for 9 years), and then ER. Hmmmm...he did have quite a slump between jobs. Don't think its necessarily him though.
Jeffrey Tambor was on The Ropers, and then later was on The Larry Sanders Show.

Grammer- Produces Girlfriends
Clooney-lived with and was engaged to Kimberly Russell of Head of the Class
Jeffrey Tambor- Hmmm, a possibility.
What about David Cassidy? He was on the Partridge Family in the 70s right? His destitution is well documented. Then he had a show on VH1 in the 90s called 8 Track Flashback.

^^^ Can't be Jeffrey Tambor. He was also on Arrested Development, so that's three TV shows.

That's what I did. That's how I came up with Jerry Seinfeld. He was a regular on Benson in 1980. He played one of the bodyguards or something like that. He had smaller parts on TV after that and didn't become a regular on a TV show again until he got his own show. He's also the only one with enough clout to challenge an sports star. It's him. He's the only one I can find that fits.

While all of that makes perfect sense, and should get me to change my mind, I still keep coming back to Scott Baio. He was the first name that popped into my head when I read this B.I., and no matter who else I try to guess I always keep coming back to him, for some reason.
And I'm reading the two TV series as he's been in at least two series. And Baio was on Diagnosis Murder, in the 90's, the same time Victoria Rowell was, and she was the only black cast member.

It's Scott Baio. Girls who have dated him say he uses the despicable "n" word all the time and is a massive racist. He was once banned from the Playboy mansion for a few months as well.

Rowell should out his ass if it true. I could see that happening.
Wasn't there a guest star on Happy Days who later said Baio was a complete ass to any minorities? He can't be too smart. Erin Moran has never EVER looked white.

Speaking of Erin Moran, on that stupid reality show he has, she was on the one episode I caught and she didn't seem to want to be around Baio. She just kept giving him strange looks like she knew something that other people didn't know.
