It would make sense if it were her, but I don't think her career is riding on this album. Oh wait. Isn't she about to sign a record-breaking deal for like $125 million for an album and touring contract? If that depends at least somewhat on her album sales, then this could definitely be her.

is why I don't think it's Madonna. She's still a huge star. She's never lost the spotlight and her career isn't on life support. Whoever it is, it sounds like her career's hanging by a thread or at least a lot shakier than it used to be.
